Flush the Pocket: Emotional Sunday for B.A.

September, 7, 2013
Flush the Pocket will be your daily morning dose of the Arizona Cardinals. It’ll recap the top storyline from the previous day and give you a look at what everyone is saying locally and nationally.

TEMPE, Ariz. – Well, it’s almost here.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has waited 60 years for Sunday, his first fall Sunday as an NFL head coach. It’s been a long and winding road from the North Atlantic to Tempe, Ariz.

When Arians takes the field at the Edward Jones Dome for the national anthem, just minutes before the Cardinals take on the St. Louis Rams, he’ll get a tear in his eye like he always has.

And then the butterflies will come.

“I have them every week,” Arians said.

They might be a little more intense come Sunday.
