Flush the Pocket will be your daily morning dose of the Arizona Cardinals. It’ll recap the top storyline from the previous day and give you a look at what everyone is saying locally and nationally.

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The numbers don’t lie: Sunday will be a game pitting two of the best defenses in the NFL against each other.

Arizona is ranked seventh overall compared to Seattle’s top-ranked unit.

The Cardinals are top 10 in other categories: No. 8 points/game, No. 1 rush yards/game, No. 2 rush yards/play, No. 5 pass yards/play, No. 7 opponent passer rating, tied at No. 7 sacks, No. 4 takeaways and No. 5 interceptions.

As a whole, Arizona has more top-10 rankings than Seattle, but the Seahawks are ranked higher than the Cards in the categories they share the top 10.

Seattle is ranked first in overall defense, points/game, pass yards/game, pass yards/play, opponent passer rating and interceptions.

Individually, Seattle’s Richard Sherman leads the NFL with 14 interceptions going back to the start of the 2012 season while Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson has 10 during that span.

Here are a few of my Tuesday stories:

Arians: Fitzgerald won’t practice Wednesday.

Arizona’s pass rush wasn’t aggressive against Tennessee.

The Cardinals are ranked No. 8 in the ESPN.com Power Rankings.

In other news ...

Kent Somers of AZCentral.com writes about the Cards and Arians forming a chemistry.
