Recap: It’s been a while since the Cardinals had the same quarterback play in all 16 games. The addition of Palmer in April through a trade with the Oakland Raiders gave Arizona legitimacy at quarterback, something the Cardinals were missing since Kurt Warner retired after 2009. Even though Palmer threw 22 interceptions and led an offense that struggled to find its way through the first eight games, he had a career season. Palmer threw for a career-high 4,274 yards, becoming the first player to throw for 4,000 yards with three different teams. In what seemed like the flip of a switch, Palmer and the Cardinals’ offense found their rhythm in Week 10 and finished the season 6-2. During the final eight games Palmer threw 14 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions. Palmer battled through an ankle injury late in the season but was able to stay healthy enough to keep the Cardinals in the hunt for a playoff spot. His long-term health throughout the season was a major concern considering Palmer was sacked 41 times but just 18 times in the final eight games.
