Where the Cardinals' roster stands at 75

By Mike Sando

By Saturday, NFL teams will have reduced their rosters from 90-player maximums to 75 and finally 53 within a one-week period.

The chart shows where the Arizona Cardinals' roster stands by position at the 75-man limit. It also shows Week 1 positional counts for the previous two seasons. The comparison should generally show us where the team will trim, and to what degree.

Arizona has a new coaching staff, so some of the priorities could change. The team values tight ends over fullbacks to a greater degree under new coach Bruce Arians, for example. And with injuries affecting starting tight end Rob Housler and veteran Jeff King, the team could need greater numbers at that position anyway.

Arians pointed to receiver, safety, cornerback, tight end and the offensive line as positions where depth remains unsettled heading into the final exhibition game, set for Thursday night in Denver.
