FTP: Palmer's jersey vs. SF to HOF
By Josh Weinfuss
Flush the Pocket will be your daily morning dose of the Arizona Cardinals. It'll recap the top storyline from the previous day and give you a look at what everyone is saying locally and nationally.
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Pro Football Hall of Fame noticed Carson Palmer's career season.
Arizona's quarterback threw for 407 yards Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, giving Palmer a career high 4,274 yards for the season. It was the fourth time he topped 4,000 yards in a season.
But the Hall of Fame was more concerned with Palmer becoming the first quarterback to throw for at least 4,000 yards with three different teams. To honor Palmer, the Hall of Fame is displaying his game jersey from that game.
Palmer is the third quarterback in franchise history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season and the first since Kurt Warner did it in 2008. Earlier this season, cornerback Patrick Peterson's gloves were put on display in the Hall after he become the first NFL defender since at least the 1970 merger to have a reception and a completion in the same game.
