FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons have yet to announce any changes to the coaching staff, but head coach Mike Smith made clear his intentions to keep offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong.

"I'm not going to talk specifics about contracts, but I will tell you this: All three of our coordinators are now under contract for next season," Smith said. "They are very good football coaches that I'm glad that we have them under contract. And I'll have an opportunity to work with them in the 2014 season."

Nolan signed a two-year contract extension over the weekend as he approached the final year of his deal. Koetter flirted with the Boise State job before deciding to remain with the Falcons.

General manager Thomas Dimitroff expressed confidence in Smith and his coaching staff despite this year's 4-12 record.

"I really, truly believe that we have the nucleus and the leadership to turn this around quickly within our offseason," Dimitroff said.
