FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Wide receiver Roddy White, running back Steven Jackson, and offensive tackle Sam Baker were held out of practice Wednesday as the Falcons began preparations for Sunday night’s showdown with the Patriots.

White continues to recover from a high-ankle sprain, although it didn’t keep him from playing in the first three games. A hamstring injury will keep Jackson out of action again Sunday, while Baker is still not healthy from the foot/knee problems that kept him out of last week’s game at Miami. Lamar Holmes took Baker’s place at left tackle with Jeremy Trueblood stepping in at right tackle for Holmes.

Receiver Julio Jones, center Peter Konz and guard Garrett Reynolds all were limited by knee injuries on Wednesday. Defensive back Robert McClain (knee) and running back/special-teamer Josh Vaughan (ankle ) participated in full in practice.

In New England, offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer (foot) and receiver/special-teamer Matthew Slater (wrist) missed practice. Tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) and receiver Danny Amendola (groin) had limited participation.
