It will be key for the Falcons to both score in free agency and have a successful draft in order to not only fill holes in the starting lineup, but to create much-needed depth to a team bitten by the injury bug in recent years.
The whole theme going into the offseason was about getting tougher up front. In order to do so, the Falcons are likely to pursue both an offensive guard and defensive tackle in free agency. Then in the draft, they’ll need to prioritize either securing an offensive tackle such as Auburn's Greg Robinson or going after a top-flight pass-rusher such as Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack with the sixth-overall pick -- if they don’t decide to trade up or down.
A lack of toughness across the board is a big part of the reason why the Falcons went from Super Bowl contenders to owning a top-10 draft pick in the first place.
