A weekly examination of the Ravens' ESPN.com Power Ranking:
Preseason: 8 | Last Week: 14 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002
Winners of four straight games, the Baltimore Ravens (8-6) are slowly convincing the Power Rankings voters that they're for real. The defending Super Bowl champions moved up two spots to No. 12, their highest ranking since Week 7, when they were 3-3. During their winning streak, which is tied with the San Francisco 49ers' as the NFL's longest current one, the Ravens have climbed eight spots in four weeks. In comparison to last season, when the Ravens won the Super Bowl, Baltimore was ranked No. 11 in Week 16 of the 2012 season.
Just like the playoff standings, the Ravens are No. 6 among AFC teams in the Power Rankings. It's the Ravens' fourth straight week in the top half of the rankings after spending four consecutive weeks in the bottom half. As one of the Power Rankings voters, I had the Ravens at No. 13. I didn't place them in front of the Bears because they lost at Chicago last month.
As far as the AFC North goes, the Cincinnati Bengals slipped one spot to No. 9, the Cleveland Browns dropped two spots to No. 27 and the Pittsburgh Steelers surprisingly remained at No. 19 despite beating the division-leading Bengals.
