Ravens favored over Bengals in opener

Some fans have let me know through social media that it's a little early for ESPN.com to post predictions for each team's record, and I agree that projections in April don't carry much weight because much can change from now until the start of the season.

But this exercise was more about fun. In Las Vegas, they're actually laying down money already.

Despite being 136 days away from the opener, the Baltimore Ravens are a 2.5-point favorite over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1.

How much should you read into this early line? In the gambling world, home teams are generally given a three-point advantage. So, the oddsmakers are basically saying that this game is even.

Most of the games don't have big point spreads. Only three games feature a team favored by more than six points: Eagles (11 points) over Jaguars; Bears (6.5 points) over Bills; and Broncos (seven points) over Colts.
