A weekly examination of the Baltimore Ravens' quarterback play:

Rewind: Joe Flacco won for the 18th time in his past 20 home games in what was essentially a game manager role. His 24 pass attempts Sunday against Houston were his fewest in a regular-season win since last November when he threw the same amount of passes at Cleveland. For the second straight week, Flacco started off slowly, completing 7 of 12 passes for 53 yards in the first half. Even on the passes he completed, Flacco was visibly struggling with his accuracy. He was much more on target after halftime, connecting on 9 of his 12 throws for 118 yards. It was a winning performance, but hardly an impressive one.

Flacco
Fast-forward: In his only previous meeting with the Bills, Flacco threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Much has changed since October 2010, but Buffalo is still susceptible to the pass. The Bills have allowed multiple touchdown passes in each of the first three weeks and gave up 331 yards passing to rookie Geno Smith this past Sunday. Flacco is 6-2 for his career against the AFC East with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. His passer rating is 94.8.

Short-sighted: The Bills allowed touchdown throws of 51 and 69 yards to Smith this past Sunday, but it's unknown whether Flacco can do the same. He hasn't stretched the field as much this season after connecting deep all through the 2012 playoffs. Against Houston, Flacco was 15-of-20 for 123 yards on passes that traveled less than 10 yards downfield and he was 1-of-4 for 48 yards on passes that went 11 or more yards in the air.

Prediction: The Ravens are going to want to run the ball against a Bills defense that allowed the second-most yards on the ground this season. That means another week of limited throws for Flacco. It's unlikely Flacco will crack 300 yards but he could produce a couple of touchdown passes against the Bills.
