Brown, Leach, Stoops finalists for Eddie Robinson Award

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, Texas coach Mack Brown and Texas Tech coach Mike Leach were among nine finalists named Thursday by the Football Writers Association of America for the Eddie Robinson Award for the coach of the year.
Here is the list of the nine finalists for the award, which will be announced Jan. 6 in Miami.

- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops
- Texas Tech coach Mike Leach
- USC coach Pete Carroll
- Florida coach Urban Meyer
- Penn State coach Joe Paterno
- Boise State coach Chris Petersen
- Alabama coach Nick Saban
- Utah coach Kyle Whittingham
