- Oklahoma president David Boren says Oklahoma and Texas A&M both received invitations to the SEC.
- Iowa State has gotten three new commitments for the 2011 class this week, reports Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register.
- The IRS is auditing salaries at the University of Texas, including coach Mack Brown's, report Brendan A. McGrail and Allison Bennett at Bloomberg Businessweek.
- SI.com's Stewart Mandel says if the new Big 12 runs into problems with the BCS, namely Texas or Oklahoma being passed up for a title game, it might lead to teams like BYU or TCU getting invites.
