Four more Big 12 teams will start spring practice this week and one will take off, continuing the shuffle across the conference.
New Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads will start his first practice with the Cyclones Tuesday. Rhoads' major chore will be assimilating his coaching staff as it begins work with a Cyclones program that dropped its final 10 games last season.
Nebraska's spring practice will begin Wednesday with one of the nation's most ballyhooed positional battles. After the departure of Patrick Witt, Zac Lee, Kody Spano and incoming freshman Cody Green will battle for the Cornhuskers' starting job this spring.
Texas Tech will begin work in overhauling an offense on Wednesday. Taylor Potts is poised to replace record-breaking quarterback Graham Harrell among other notable items to watch this spring for coach Mike Leach.
Coach Mike Sherman will begin his second season with Texas A&M on Thursday. Sherman's major work will be transforming a defense that ranked 108th or worse last season in all four major statistical categories -- rushing defense, pass efficiency defense, total defense and scoring.
Missouri will take off this week during its spring break. Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas all will return to work after breaking last week. And Baylor and Kansas will continue for another week.
Only Colorado, which will begin work next week, and Kansas State, which starts on April 6, still haven't started spring practice.
