Aggies' bandwagon looking creaky

Jerrod Johnson was voted preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, but he hasn't looked like it against Florida International. Johnson just threw a pick-six to Anthony Gaitor that has Texas A&M trailing 20-6 late in the third quarter at home.

The high-flying Aggies offense that ranked among the nation's best a year ago has yet to score a touchdown, and Johnson has completed just 7-of-20 passes and three interceptions.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M's two running backs who both topped 800 yards a year ago, Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael, have been held to just 79 yards on 17 carries. Not terrible, but not what you'd expect against a team like Florida International, who won just three games in the Sun Belt Conference a year ago.

Texas A&M was among the popular picks as a dark horse in the Big 12 South, but even if the offense awakes and the Aggies pull it out, that's looking pretty unlikely.
