Three players from across the Big 12 are on the list of eight semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
The award is given to individuals for their "IMPACT" on their teams on and off the field, signifying players' Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
Sam Acho, DL, Texas
Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
Quinton Carter, S, Oklahoma
All three are among the best in the Big 12 and the nation at their positions, and have done significant off-the-field work.
Acho has accompanied his family, including brother Emmuanuel Acho, a Texas linebacker, on mission trips to Nigeria.
Amukamara has done numerous community service projects, including visiting with veterans, those suffering with Down Syndrome and accompanying the team on hospital visits. He was named to the 2010 Brook Berringer Citizenship Team, a group of Nebraska players honored for service off the field.
Carter works with children in both the Norman, Oklahoma community and back in his hometown of Las Vegas, as well as founding his own non-profit organization, "SOUL," which stands for Serving Others through Unity and Leadership.
