The American Football Coaches Association All-America team was released on Monday morning, and four players from the Big 12 made the cut. That's tied with the ACC and SEC for second-most on the team, behind the Big Ten's six selections.
South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery nabbed the receiver spot opposite Blackmon on the team, and Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was asked this morning about his receiver, Ryan Broyles, being left off the team.

"I find it hard to believe how Ryan Broyles would not be a first-team All-American," Stoops said. "He's had an unbelievable year, and has been consistently a huge big-play guy for us in every single game all year. We're at the top of the league in most every offensive category, and largely because of him. He's had a huge year, so that's disappointing that he wouldn't be on that, because he's a special player."

Here's how Broyles and Jeffery compare statistically:
  • Jeffery: 75 rec, 1,351 yards, 8 TD (yards per reception: 18.01)
  • Broyles: 115 rec, 1,391, 13 TD (yards per reception: 12.10)
