Heavy rainfalls in San Diego have allowed water to collect on the field at Qualcomm Stadium, which will host the Poinsettia Bowl Wednesday night and the Holiday Bowl between Nebraska and Washington on Dec. 30.
Here are photos of the damage from Wednesday morning.
Bowl officials said they were confident the field would be drained in time for the Poinsettia Bowl between Navy and San Diego State, but more rain could change that.
"The field will be ready," Poinsettia Bowl executive director Bruce Binkowski said. "The ground crew will be working all night long. There might be a few soft spots where water sunk in, but the field will be ready."
It's probably not much to worry about for the Huskers, who won't play in San Diego for another week, but it's still a pretty surreal set of photos. We'll see how the field holds up during tonight's game, but another heavy rainstorm next week could make things interesting for the Huskers and Huskies.
