One of the more interesting stories that has transpired in the Big 12 over the past 12 months has been the development of Baylor into a potential bowl contender.

The Bears have the longest drought in the Big 12 after not making a bowl trip since an appearance in the 1994 Alamo Bowl.

It's been a long, hard road since then. My colleague Bruce Feldman has an outstanding story about coach Art Briles' turnaround in the Aug. 10 issue of ESPN The Magazine. It's also now available through Insider on ESPN.com at this link.

Feldman has some interesting anecdotes from Briles and key players for the Bears like Robert Griffin, Phil Taylor and Danny Watkins as the Bears attempt to turn things around in the unforgiving Big 12 South Division.

Baylor's development will be one of the stories to watch this season in the Big 12.

For some interesting background, check out Feldman's story. It's well worth the read.
