Five players from the Big 12 earned All-American status from the Football Writers Association of America. Here's the full team.
  • Luke Joeckel, LT, Texas A&M
  • Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M
  • Shaun Lewis, LB, Oklahoma State
  • Tom Wort, LB, Oklahoma
  • Ty Zimmerman, S, Kansas State

I'm a little surprised to see Oklahoma receiver Kenny Stills, who broke Ryan Broyles freshman school receiving record this year with 786 yards, five touchdowns and 61 catches, not on the team. TCU receiver Josh Boyce, who did make the team, finished with 646 yards and six touchdowns on 34 catches.

All five guys who did make it are definitely deserving, but for those curious, here's where the five ranked in their class before coming to campus.

Joeckel: No. 6 offensive tackle, No. 83 overall recruit, four stars.

Lewis: No. 4 linebacker, No. 75 overall recruit, four stars

Moore: No. 48 defensive end, three stars

Wort: No. 3 linebacker, No. 85 overall recruit, four stars

Zimmerman: Athlete. No ranking.
