Blake Bell is only 2010 Big 12 QB recruit among ESPNU 150

If the Big 12 is going to continue its recent success in churning out top quarterbacks, it will have to do so with some lower-rated recruits.
Tom Luginbill of Scouts Inc. had an interesting analysis of quarterbacks in the Class of 2010, which by all accounts is a weak one for quarterbacks.
The 2010 quarterback class has only six prospects in the ESPNU 150, with no five-star caliber players and just 16 four-star prospects.
And among the very top recruits, only one player has committed to a Big 12 school.
Blake Bell of Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, Kan., has committed to Oklahoma. The 6-foot-6 quarterback is starting only his second season as a starter this year. But Sooners coaches love his physical tools and his ability to run.
Landry Jones is the heir apparent behind Sam Bradford, but Bell should have every chance to challenge him in the future if he's as talented as the early reports indicate.
Luginbill also discusses Texas quarterback commitments Connor Wood of Second Baptist High School in Houston and Case McCoy of Graham Texas, the little brother of current Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.
