The recruiting cycle never ends.
So what if signing day was last week?
Texas had 22 commitments in June 2010 for its 2011 class, and collected its first commitment on Monday.
Connor Brewer, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound quarterback from Scottsdale, Ariz., has committed to the Longhorns' 2012 class. He's also on the ESPNU 150 Watch List.
"Texas is just a special place," Brewer told ESPN's Greg Biggins. "There were several other schools I really liked, but Texas and their tradition of winning really put them over the top for me. I have always played for a winner, going back to Pop Warner and now in high school and I want to continue to win. Texas is a place where I know I'll be able to do that and having my sister [on Texas' swim team] at the school is a nice bonus as well."
Brewer's sister Ashley is a swimmer for the Longhorns, too.
Of course, Texas isn't the only school with commits for 2012 already lined up.
Texas A&M: 6 (three from the ESPNU 150 watch list. Two RBs and a WR.)
Baylor: 2 (LaDarius Anthony, RB, ESPNU 150 watch list)
Texas Tech: 1 (Derek David, ESPNU 150 watch list)
Texas: 1 (Brewer)
Oklahoma State: 1
