Tom Luginbill, the national recruiting director for ESPN's Scouts Inc., provides us with a couple of Big 12-related recruiting nuggets this morning:

Texan Harvey Jackson decides to play for Cornhuskers

A 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety, Harvey Jackson of Hightower High School (Missouri City, Texas) has announced for Nebraska in the Class of 2010.

He was also offered by Baylor, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Houston, Arizona State, Duke, Purdue, Rice, SMU and Utah.

Jackson is the sixth commitment for the Huskers.

Athlete Reggie Wilkins is set to play in-state for the Tar Heels

Reggie Wilkins, a 5-foot-9, 165-pound wide receiver/cornerback from Crest (Shelby, N.C.), has selected North Carolina for the Class of 2010.

He also holds scholarship offers from North Carolina State, Clemson, Colorado, East Carolina, Louisville and Marshall.

Wilkins, who plays quarterback for Crest, rushed for 994 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior. He also passed for 914 yards and five scores.

At the Nike Charlotte combine, the athlete posted an electronically-time 4.64 40-yard dash and 33.1-inch vertical.

The Heels now have nine commitments.
