Here are a couple of recruiting tidbits provided by Tom Luginbill, the national recruiting director for ESPN.com's Scouts Inc.

S Zack Craig

Spring Branch, TX

Smithson Valley H.S.

Scouts Grade: 40

Oklahoma State has gained a commitment for the Class of 2010 in Zack Craig, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound safety from Smithson Valley High School (Spring Branch, Texas).

Craig, who decommitted from Colorado, was also sought by Colorado State.

The Cowboys now have 23 pledges.

My take: I'm wondering if this decision was influenced by the first week of the season. No problem in the Big 12 is soaring now like Oklahoma State. And the most struggling program, along with the coach with the most tenuous job secruity, appears at Colorado and Dan Hawkins.

RB DeAnthony Thomas

Los Angeles, CA

Crenshaw H.S.

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List running back DeAnthony Thomas (Los Angeles/Crenshaw) spoke with ESPN affiliate WeAreSC.com about the current status of his recruitment.

"Right now I have USC and UCLA," said Thomas of his current offers. "I'm still waiting on a couple more, but I'm just going to stay focused, keep my head right and keep doing my thing in school."

"I'm really waiting to hear from LSU, Oklahoma and teams like that," he added. "I feel like I'm really prepared to play at a school like Florida, because I like the speed and I like the type of offense they run."

My take: It sounds like Thomas has checked the Sooners' depth chart at running back in the future and knows who they are recruiting. I wonder if his announcement of his interest in the Oklahoma program will be enough to get the Sooners interested in him?
