It's a week late, but Bryan Harsin reached in his bag of tricks and pulled out the Statue of Liberty play.
Once again, it worked.
The beneficiary? Malcolm Brown, who ran 24 yards for a touchdown to bring Texas within 28-24 in the third quarter. Brown, however, elected to take a ride on the stationary bike after the run, rather than propose marriage.
Brown has led Texas in rushing every game this year, but he looks like he's on his way to a career game with 102 yards and two scores on 13 carries. His career high is only 110 so far, and he'll get plenty more touches before this game is over.
Texas' defense has held up well against an Oklahoma State offense racking up points against everyone, and got a nice boost with a 100-yard kickoff return from Fozzy Whittaker to counter Justin Gilbert's 100-yard touchdown that opened the second half.
Gilbert's touchdown was his fourth career kick return. The NCAA record is seven.
Brandon Weeden hasn't been sharp today, completing just 19-of-34 passes for 209 yards and a score. He entered today's game completing over 75 percent of his passes.
