You've got to love seeing this.
Paul Rhoads' teams are consistently marked by their resiliency, and today, they've personified it.
Texas A&M burst to a 23-point lead in the third quarter, but Iowa State has climbed to within 30-17 after a fourth-down stop in the red zone that set off a celebration on Iowa State's sideline.
Earlier, it recovered a punt that hit a Texas A&M player to set up a field goal.
Iowa State may run short on QB talent in relation to the league it plays in. It may not have two future NFL running backs like Texas A&M.
Jared Barnett has struggled. The defense has been unable to stop the run in the second half.
But the Cyclones are never short on effort, and if they catch a couple breaks late and keep moving the ball on offense, it could pay off.
