Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones, Texas linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy and Nebraska kicker Alex Henery have been named as the Big 12's players of the week in a vote by a media panel.

It was the second time that Henery has been selected in his career and the first time for Jones and Muckelroy.

Offensive player of the week: Oklahoma QB Landry Jones, Fr., Artesia, N.M.

Making just the second start of his career, Jones threw a school-record six touchdown passes in Oklahoma’s 45-0 win over Tulsa. The redshirt freshman broke the mark previously held by Heisman Trophy winners Sam Bradford and Jason White, along with Heisman runner-up Josh Heupel. Jones also tied the NCAA record for the second-most touchdown passes by a freshman. Jones ended the game 25-of-37 for 336 yards with two interceptions. His touchdown throws covered 7, 63, 13, 10, 14 and 35 yards.

Defensive player of the week: Texas LB Roddrick Muckelroy, Sr., Hallsville, Texas

Muckelroy registered a team-high 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss (minus-15 yards) and a sack (minus-14 yards), in Texas’ 34-24 win over Texas Tech. He also broke up a pass and had two quarterback pressures. The Longhorns held Tech to three third-down conversions on 13 attempts. Texas' defense also limited the Red Raiders to minus-6 yards rushing.

Special teams player of the week: Nebraska K-P Alex Henery, Jr., Omaha, Neb.

Henery made all five of his field goal attempts, the second-most in school history, in Nebraska’s 16-15 loss at Virginia Tech. His field goals were from 40, 27, 19, 38 and 38 yards. Henery recorded his fourth career game with at least four field goals while extending his streak of made field goals inside 50 yards to 19. He has connected on 6 of 7 field goals this season and hit 32-of-36 in his career. The junior specialist also punted six times for a 41.5-yard average, including a 76-yarder in the first quarter, which marked the fourth-longest punt in program history.
