It's the kind of penalty that will prompt a lot of throwing of objects around the Houston coaches' offices tomorrow when they watch game films tomorrow morning.
Defensive end Tyrell Graham's was flagged for a costly hands to the face of Texas Tech tackle Terry McDaniel, negating an interception by Houston linebacker Matt Nicholson that would have given the Cougars the ball near the 50.
Replays looked like the jostling between Graham and McDaniel in the pit really wasn't that unusual.
Coming into the game, Houston had been penalized only 23 yards per game to rank second lowest in college football. Graham's penalty moved the Cougars' penalty totals for the game to 74 yards.
None of them was bigger than Graham's.
