HornsNation: Coaches learn big lessons

AUSTIN, Texas — For a change the expectations were muted.

No one expected 2010. So no one knew what 2011 would hold. What would the new coaches bring to Texas? Who would be the new quarterback? What newcomer Malcolm Brown could do when given 20 carries? And ultimately the question that hovered over it all: Could Texas win again?

With the dust still settling, a few of those questions still are left unanswered.

But 2011 did bring a few answers, not just for the season that was, but for those that have yet to come.

"We will be a much better team two years from now than we will be next year, because we will have a senior team for the first time in two or three years," Texas coach Mack Brown said.
