Texas, Nebraska dominate NFL rosters among Big 12 teams

I decided to give a quick review of NFL rosters this afternoon to check which Big 12 programs have been the most successful in placing players in professional football.
Not surprisingly, Texas is at the top with 35 current NFL players and Nebraska is second with 28 -- providing further evidence of the dominance of thoe programs in recent years. And there is no doubt that this is an indicator of which programs had the best players several years ago in the conference.
Surprisingly, there were relatively few players from Oklahoma, which ranks fifth with 18 current NFL players. And I was really shocked at how few NFL players that Texas Tech has produced. The Red Raiders rank 10th with seven players. And Missouri's struggles during the Larry Smith era are marked with the Tigers tied with Baylor for the fewest players with six.
Here's the overall list of active players on NFL rosters. Practice squad players and those on "physically unable to perform lists" don't count.
Texas 35
Nebraska 28
Texas A&M 21
Kansas State 20
Oklahoma 18
Colorado 17
Oklahoma State 10
Iowa State 8
Kansas 8
Texas Tech 7
Baylor 6
Missouri 6
