Some coaches might complain about the inconvenience of playing on Thursday night.
But Missouri coach Gary Pinkel has a different idea. In fact, Pinkel is excited about his chance to meet Nebraska later this week in the featured Big 12 game.
"Yeah, it's a Thursday night game," Pinkel said. "But it's like Monday Night Football. That's a no-brainer, that's easy."
Pinkel enthusiastically endorsed the idea and did what he could to get the game arranged.
"When I found out they were asking us to be a part of this, I talked with the administration," Pinkel said. "Obviously you have to consider the dynamics that go with a Thursday night game, and I understand that that could be tough. But certainly it happens around the country.
"It's great not only for our football program, but for the University of Missouri and the town of Columbia. It was a win-win in every way."
It should be interesting.
