Tom Luginbill, the national recruiting director for ESPN's Scouts Inc., provides us with a few Big 12-related recruiting nuggets:
DT Chase Rose
- Columbia, Mo.
- Rock Bridge H.S.
- Scouts Grade: 79
- Position Rank: 21
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound standout also holds offers from Florida, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Tennessee, UCLA, Kansas and Kansas State, among many others.
ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the switch, "Big start to the weekend for the Cornhuskers. First they grab a big conference win in primetime on Thursday and now they follow that up with a verbal commitment from four-star defensive tackle Chase Rome. Rome a Missouri native was committed to Oklahoma State, but switched his pledge to Nebraska."
"Not only did the Huskers land a player committed to a Big Twelve South school they also took him out of the backyard of a conference rival which they just beat. This is one of those additions that seems to be working from every angle for Nebraska."
"As far as Rome the player he is now the Huskers highest rated defensive player and should be a good addition to a defensive line which has been strong for Nebraska, but needs to re-load for the future. Rome will bring a tough high motor game to Lincoln. He possesses good size and could play end for the Huskers, but more likely will develop into a defensive tackle. He is strongest against the run at this point, but they can work to develop his pass rushing skills. Against the run he is good with his hands and can separate and shed from blockers. Displays good football instincts and smarts to be in position and make plays."
"This is a nice pick-up for Nebraska as they try and climb back into power in the Big Twelve North."
Nebraska now has nine commitments for 2010.

Moore chose Nebraska over the Florida Gators.
