West Virginia has agreed to terms with head coach Dana Holgorsen on a new six-year deal through 2017.
Here's our news story.
The Mountaineers announced the new deal at a news conference on Wednesday morning. Holgorsen will be paid an annual salary of $2.3 million -- $250,000 in base pay and the rest coming from the athletic department or private revenue sources.
"There is no question that joining the Big 12 Conference presents new challenges in competition, facility upgrades and overall growth," Holgorsen said in a release. "However, I am excited to be the head coach of the West Virginia University Mountaineers, I enjoy living in this state, and I look forward to many more successful years in Morgantown."
Holgorsen made $1.49 million last season, according to USA Today research.
