Iowa State's Jake Knott is likely out for the season and is undergoing shoulder surgery today in Chicago, coach Paul Rhoads said.
Rhoads says Knott might make it back for a potential bowl game. But the Cyclones won't know more until later in the week.
Knott injured his shoulder on Oct. 20 against Oklahoma State, but he returned and had 11 tackles and forced a fumble in Iowa State's 35-21 win on Saturday over Baylor.
If Knott never plays another game in an Iowa State uniform, that's a heck of a way to go out. He was named the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Week today. He currently leads the Big 12 in tackles with 79 stops (55 solo).
