Texas Tech coach Mike Leach will take advantage of the first day of his bye week on Monday by visiting ESPN's campus in Bristol, Conn., to appear on various programming platforms for the network.
He will make television and radio appearances, do a chat on ESPN.com and a podcast and appear on "SportsCenter." That multitasking visit is known as visiting "the car wash."
Leach's appearance becomes the second by a Texas Tech football figure. Michael Crabtree made a similar visit last spring shortly after declaring for the NFL draft.
It's not rare for coaches and players from other Big 12 schools to make the trip to Bristol. Missouri coach Gary Pinkel appeared during his team's bye week last season. And Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy and Texas quarterback Colt McCoy also trekked to the studios earlier this summer.
Leach's lively personality should make these appearances noteworthy. I'll be interested to see what he has to say during his stop.
