Colt McCoy came into Saturday's game against UCF needing a big game to boost his Heisman hopes.

He's delivered in a statistical sense, although the Longhorns have sputtered in posting a 14-3 halftime lead over the plucky Knights.

McCoy has passed for 221 yards in the first half and is on line to produce his first 300-yard passing game since the second game of the season.

Cody Johnson has accounted for touchdowns on two of his four first-half carries for Texas.

And after some early struggles, the Longhorns' defense has perked up as the game progressed. After allowing a field goal early in the second quarter, Texas has allowed 15 yards on the next 12 plays to finish the half.
