We're continuing our march across Big 12 country with your dream trek for 2013. Want to see the best of the best in the Big 12 this season? Come along with us.
We don't make the final decisions about where we spend our fall Saturdays, but I'm walking week by week through the 2013 season and forecasting where I'd like to be. Circumstances change as games happen, of course, but here's how I'd project the season. Road nonconference games count. Let's move on with the next week.
Here's the Week 13 schedule across the Big 12:
Oklahoma at Kansas State
Baylor at Oklahoma State
Kansas at Iowa State
My pick: Oklahoma at Kansas State
Really, really tough call here, but I'm going with a big-time matchup of the Big 12's co-champions a year ago and a renewal of a September game that eventually sent K-State to the BCS as the Big 12's representative ahead of the Sooners.
I don't buy K-State as a major Big 12 title candidate this season, but Oklahoma may need a win on the road in Manhattan to stay in the Big 12 hunt, and K-State will be fighting for a big-time home win to possibly make the 2012 season. Two of the nation's best coaches -- Bob Stoops and Bill Snyder -- will go head-to-head in Manhattan, and the potential for an upset could be strong. Title contenders going on the road late in the season against underrated teams is often a recipe for disaster. Oklahoma State and Kansas State itself can tell you that from the past two seasons.
Bill Snyder Family Stadium will be rocking, and the trip will be my first look at the new, $75 million expansion on the west side of the stadium. I can't wait to see it in person and cover a game from the brand-new press box in Manhattan.
Better yet, it'll be the scene for what should be a great late-season game.
Honorable mention: Baylor at Oklahoma State
