After Texas Tech's offense sputtered, Leach inserted Sheffield into the lineup midway through the second quarter.
Although Sheffield was intercepted on his first drive, the Red Raiders have just claimed a 10-7 lead on a 12-yard TD strike from Sheffield to Alex Torres. It punctuated a run of 19 straight Texas Tech snaps in Oklahoma State territory.
Perrish Cox has produced two interceptions for the Cowboys.
But it appears that Texas Tech has seized the momentum in this game.
