Cool, cloudy day in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. -- It's one of those slate-gray days for football here that would be perfect in early October.

The fact that we'll have temperatures in the low-50s at kickoff for the North Division showdown between Nebraska and Kansas State makes us all feel even more blessed considering the game is near the end of the season.

There are some heavy clouds over the stadium, but it's doubtful we'll get any rain tonight. The stadium is yet to have many spectators as the tailgaters are out in full force around the stadium.

No stadium in the Big 12 has more street vendors than Nebraska's venerable Memorial Stadium. It always makes it feel like a football Saturday.

I'll check back with some pregame ponderables in a few minutes. Until then, I'll revel in another big game between these two old rivals.
