Texas' road streak looks daunting for Tech's hopes

Texas will be looking to continue a remarkable recent streak when the Longhorns travel to Texas Tech for Saturday night's game.
Since losing to Oklahoma on Oct. 9, 2004, Texas has run off a 17-2 record in games against ranked opponents. And here's a stat that Texas Tech coach Mike Leach probably doesn't want to hear. The Longhorns are 3-0 against ranked foes on the road during that run.
The last time that Texas lost to ranked opponent in a true road game was in the game after Texas A&M's bonfire tragedy several days before the Nov. 26, 1999, game with the Aggies. The Longhorns dropped a 20-16 decision in that game. Since then, Texas has won five-straight games on the road against ranked opponents since then.
