LUBBOCK, Texas -- For whatever reason, there just doesn't seem to be the same buzz at Jones AT&T Stadium surrounding this week's visit by No. 9 Oklahoma State as was in place for No. 1 Texas' visit seven days ago.

Maybe some of the Texas Tech fans are hung over, emotionally anyway. But for whatever reason, this late-arriving crowd is not arriving with nearly as much enthusiasm as last week.

One fellow reporter mentioned that he parked much closer to the stadium this week and found his parking much cheaper. A faraway location several blocks away went for $20 last week. He parked closer for $10 before today's game.

You could almost sense that fans already at the stadium are a little more subdued as well. The normally raucous crowd at Raider Alley was grooving to some acoustic music while they ate their steak and sausage bites today. They were chanting "Beat Texas" -- with a few more colorful adjectives thrown in for good measure -- before the game last week.

Students have started arriving and have already packed much of the lower bowl of the stadium. They are watching the LSU-Alabama game on the big-screen television and are cheering every success by the Tigers.
