Sooners may lose two starting DBs for Sun Bowl

Oklahoma could be missing two starting defensive backs today in the Brut Sun Bowl.

The Oklahoman reports that cornerback Brian Jackson and free safety Quinton Carter might not play.

Jackson sustained a concussion earlier this week in practice and is doubtful to play. Carter has the flu and is listed as questionable.

If Jackson can't play, freshman Demontre Hurst would get his first career start. Hurst posted 13 tackles and a sack while seeing action in all 12 games for the Sooners.

Sam Proctor or freshman Marcus Trice would get the start if Carter can't play. Proctor had 10 starts at strong safety this season, making 42 tackles and breaking up two passes. Trice saw action in all 12 games this season with three tackles and a blocked punt against Idaho State.
