Clouds, but no rain for Sooners-Seminoles
By David Ubben
NORMAN, Okla. -- I'm all set up and ready to go for No. 10 Oklahoma and No. 17 Florida State here at Owen Field.
There's a pretty thick cloud cover in all directions, but the weather forecast says there's only a 10 percent chance of rain, so don't expect Mother Nature to show up as Oklahoma's 12th man on defense against Seminoles' quarterback Christian Ponder.
The wind was gusting pretty hard on my way into the stadium, but inside the stadium, it shouldn't be a huge factor. The flags on the goalposts are flapping pretty harmlessly and the forecast says north winds are at about 10-15 mph.
It'll be hot and humid underneath the cloud cover, and the 70 percent humidity had me sweating on the walk to the stadium. But after preseason camp and with the Seminoles hailing from the Sunshine State, that won't favor either team. I'd expect the trainers to get plenty of work dealing with cramps, though.
The student section is filling up and the brats are coming off the grill as lunch time passes and game-time approaches.
Feels like football.
