The Lancaster County attorney's office has dismissed charges against Nebraska tight end Ben Cotton after he was cited for alleged involvement in a February dispute.
On Feb. 28, Nebraska campus police cited Cotton for minor's consumption of alcohol, disturbing the peace and trespassing after responding to a quarrel inside a school dormitory, the Lincoln Journal-Star reported.
Cotton, the son of Nebraska offensive line coach Barney Cotton, was charged March 13 with minor consumption and disturbing the peace, but the case was dismissed by a county prosecutor last week, the Omaha World-Herald reported.
Cotton was a heralded prospect who redshirted for the Cornhuskers last season. He is expected to challenge for a starting job during spring practice, which begins Wednesday.
