Bob Stoops was able to deflect much of the lingering controversy from the Sooners' South Division title game appearance when he was asked about it.
Stoops declined comment about the Sooners' championship, which was claimed as a championship -- with an asterisk -- by Texas for several weeks earlier this spring in a team meeting room before it was removed.
"That's not for me to do," Stoops said. "I know you guys would love for me to have a little
quip about that and throw it all over the place. I don't want to take away from the players and the programs and do that. But I don't have anything to say about that."
But Stoops couldn't resist when he was walking away to take one swipe at the Longhorns, however, when he was asked about Texas fans who flew the score of the Texas-Oklahoma game overhead at several late-season Oklahoma games.
"They throw up the score of our game," Stoops said, "and I'll throw up the score of the [Texas] Tech game."
