Four Big 12ers are Good Works nominees
By ESPN.com staff
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has released its list of nominees from all levels of college football, and four players from the Big 12 are nominees for the team.
My hat's off to these gentlemen. Here are the requirements:
"... each player must be actively involved and committed to working with a charitable organization, service group or community service while maintaining a strong academic standing."
And, of course, be pretty good on the field. Guys on this team are a total package. Last year, Baylor QB Robert Griffin III and Texas LB Emmanuel Acho represented the Big 12 on the 11-man team.
New Kansas QB Dayne Crist made the team, too, but represented Notre Dame.
I've never interacted with TCU's Foltz, but Klein, Knott and Jones all embody what the Good Works team is all about. Even being nominated is an honor, but don't be surprised if all three players make the team this year. Congratulations, guys.
