WVU, Texas earn Big 12 weekly honors

The Big 12 has named its players of the week, as voted on by a media panel.
OFFENSE: Andrew Buie, RB, West Virginia: Buie rushed for a career-high 207 yards on 31 carries with two touchdowns. In his first 100-yard game, he averaged 6.7 yards a carry, and also caught three passes for 66 yards. Eight of his runs went for first downs and he broke three runs longer than 20 yards.
DEFENSE: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas: Okafor had two sacks, two forced fumbles and blocked a field goal in Texas' loss to West Virginia. He also had three quarterback pressures. His first sack/fumble was recovered by Jackson Jeffcoat in the end zone to tie the game in the second quarter. He had another sack in the fourth quarter that forced a fumble from Geno Smith and gave Texas the ball at the WVU 12-yard line.
SPECIAL TEAMS: Tavon Austin, KR, West Virginia: Austin returned three kicks for 111 total yards, including a 67-yarder and a 44-yarder. The 67-yarder was his longest of the season.
