The best individual games of 2012: No. 10
By David Ubben
Today, we'll start counting down the 10 best individual games of any Big 12 player in 2012. Bowl games and nonconference play counts, but these are the performances that topped them all at the end of the season.
No. 10: West Virginia WR Stedman Bailey vs. Baylor
Date: Sept. 29, 2012
Why it's on the list: Don't be surprised if this game -- West Virginia's first in Big 12 play -- shows up on this list again, but Bailey was one of the biggest standouts in a game full of them. Bailey had 303 yards receiving, which is a good game for any quarterback and more than any Kansas receiver had all season, but the most eye-popping number might be Bailey's five touchdown catches. He helped West Virginia earn a 70-63 win over the Bears, and in that game alone, he had as many touchdowns as all but 16 Big 12 receivers all year. That helped propel him to a nation-leading 25 touchdown catches, but his performance against Baylor was by far his best of the year, 78 more yards than he had in any game during a season in which he topped 200 yards receiving in three games and finished with 1,622 receiving yards.
