Nebraska QB Lee goes down with knee injury
By ESPN.com staff
Nebraska's hopes received a jolt early in the third quarter when starting quarterback Zac Lee went down with an injury to his right knee.
The injury occurred when Lee got tangled up on a broken play less than two minutes into the second half when he was hit by Colorado cornerback Cha'pelle Brown and B.J. Beatty. It doesn't appear to be serious as Lee was already walking along the sidelines several plays after the injury occurred.
Freshman quarterback Cody Green has been inserted into the lineup. He's provided the Cornhuskers with a lift a couple of other times this season. But Coach Bo Pelini has relied on Lee in the last two games after his relief work led them to a victory over Oklahoma. Since then, Nebraska has wrapped up the Big 12 North title.
Obviously, Lee's injury would be critical to Nebraska's championship hopes. But it might not hurt them to get Green some playing time today.
If for no other reason than to get some snaps for Green on film for Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp to account for in his game preparations this week.
