Polynesian Football HOF finds a home
By Brandon Chatmon
One of Hawaii’s largest tourist destinations will be the permanent home of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.
The Polynesian Culture Center will be the new home, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced on Friday. The exhibit, which is scheduled to open in January 2015, will be located at the entrance of the Ha Theater. The PCC is located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
“Our new home at the Polynesian Cultural Center will allow us to share with future generations the incredible journey and impact of Polynesian football players,” said Jesse Sapolu, the Chairman and Co-founder of the PFHOF in a release.
Former NFL and college standouts Junior Seau, Kevin Mawae, Olin Kreutz, Kurt Gouveia, Jack Thompson and Herman Wedemeyer joined Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo in the inaugural induction class of the PFHOF last January.
